4 held for Jehanabad molestation, cops hunt for Allahabad man who shared viral video

Image
In the video, seven men molest and try to strip the girl while abusing her in derogatory language even as she cries and begs to be left alone. The eighth person in the group was filming the incident. Patna police are on the lookout for a man from Allahabad who allegedly posted the video of the molestation of a 14-year-old Bihar girl on social media. Police have also arrested four persons, including a juvenile, for their involvement in the crime. The shocking video comes against the backdrop of an increasing number of sex crimes against minors that prompted the government to pass an executive order on 21 April that said the sexual assault of girls under the age of 12 would be punishable with the death sentence. The video, shot in Bharathua village of Jehanabad district in Bihar went viral on internet after the man posted it on his Facebook account, which was tracked down by police. The suspect has 30,000 followers, officials said. “For us, it is important to know how and why the video …

Donald Trump suggests DMZ as site for talks with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un

Image
This was the heaviest hint that Trump has dropped about the possible location for his planned face-to-face with Kim, slated for May or early June. US President Donald Trump on Monday suggested holding his upcoming meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un at the truce village in the Demilitarised Zone — the same venue that hosted the Korean peace talks last week. “Numerous countries are being considered for the MEETING, but would Peace House/Freedom House, on the Border of North & South Korea, be a more Representative, Important and Lasting site than a third party country? Just asking!” Trump tweeted. This was the heaviest hint that Trump has dropped about the possible location for his planned face-to-face with Kim, slated for May or early June. The historical Peace House had hosted the signing of the armistice that ended the Korean war in 1953. The three-story building is located along the 38th parallel that divides the Korean Peninsula, and it is controlled by the United Nati…

Korea talks put Trump, Kim, Moon in Nobel sweepstakes

Image
According to a leading London bookie, the Korea reconciliation initiative is currently the favourite for the prize in 2018, with Kim and Moon front-ending it. Trump is the next favourite. US President Donald Trump tamps down expectations from the upcoming Korea talks but has claimed credit for making it possible. Supporters agree, and demanded a Nobel Peace Prize for him at a rally in Michigan on Saturday night. “Nobel! Nobel!” they chanted, cutting off Trump’s typically freewheeling update on his efforts on Korea. “Nobel,” an amused Trump said with a chuckle. He waited patiently for the chanting to end. “That’s very nice, thank you. That’s very nice. Nobel,” he said, and chuckled again. It wasn’t clear if he was chuckling because he found the idea ridiculous or because he thought it wasn’t a bad idea. While the outcome of the Korean peace talks remains mired in decades of distrust, missed opportunities and suspicions involving all the great powers in the region and outside, there is …
